Key Lime Pie Martini

As promised, here is the recipe (done Pioneer Woman style) for my secret Key Lime Pie Martini!

What you need to get started: Liqor 43, Absolut Vanilla Vodka, Lime Juice, Heavy Whipping Cream, Reddi-wip (I use the Fat Free, just to make myself feel good), Graham Cracker Crumbs. You will also need a martini shaker, martini glass, a small pie tin and a paper towel.

Before you can start on the drink, we must prepare the glass. We would hate to get finished making the drink and be forced to drink directly out of the shaker! You can skip this part if you want, but to truly experience the drink, the glass is a must!

Pour graham cracker crumbs into a small pie/cake tin. This is a tiny Wilton tin that I happen to have and it works very nicely.

Then, pour/squirt some lime juice onto a paper towel and use it to wet the rim of the glass. The deeper in on the glass you wet, the more graham cracker crumbs you will have. You could really use a real lime here too, it works great. I just usually forget to buy one when I am at the grocery store.

Next, dip the top of the martini glass into the graham cracker crumbs and move it around a little to get it good and coated.

What you will have is then a perfectly graham cracker rimmed martini glass just dying to be filled with a martini! Off we go to make the perfect Key Lime Pie Martini!

Start by measure out 1/3 cup of Absolut Vanilla Vodka

Then, pour it into the shaker

Next, measure out 1/4 cup of Liqor 43, and then pour it into the shaker

Measure and add 2 Tblsp of Lime Juice to the shaker

Measure out 2 Tblsp of Heavy Whipping Cream into the shaker

Add crushed ice to the shaker until it is about half full

Top with the Reddi-wip almost to the top. Using the Fat Free is how I make myself not feel as guilty for drinking many, many of these. Yeah, I know, it doesn't help all that much, but humor me here will you?

Put the top and the cap on. Don't forget the cap, or you will be very, very sorry. Make sure it is on good and tight!

Shake, shake, shake! I usually give it to BD to shake, as my arms are very wimpy and get tired easily. Wasn't he nice to lend me his arms?

Keep shaking until the shaker is nice and frosted over. This will ensure that it is perfect!

Pry the cap off and pour your luscious drink into the prepared glass.

Ahhh... The perfect Key Lime Pie Martini!!!

Oh, and after you are done, your glass will look like this!

Now, go forth and make the best Key Lime Pie Martini ever! Just don't say I didn't warn you that you may become addicted and not be able to stop drinking them. They are a little strong and I have known some restaurants to substitute sweet and sour for the vanilla vodka. You can do that too, if you don't want to become tipsy too quickly. I personally haven't done that at home though, as BD likes it when I become tipsy...

You don't know how tempted I am to buy a martini shaker just because of this recipe. Seriously.

I love martinis, but I've never made one!!

Fabuulous! I think it's a little sweet. I'm using Rose'ss sweetened lime juice and I'm wndering if that is why, so I tried it with regular lime juide and that was too limey.

Then I tried it with half the lime juice - still \a bite to it

But then again, I didn't ahve the reddi whip and i wonder if using reddi whip might ........

Can you tell I've been tsting key lime pie all recipes all night? :))

thank you for this. I've been making a variation, everything is the same except midori melon liqueur instead of the whipped cream in the shaker. the result is deadly martini that looks like a piece of key lime pie poured into a glass. cheers!
